Who is Hope2theHungry?

Hope2theHungry is the newest project of Hope to Haiti. Hope to Haiti has been active in feeding and clean water projects in Haiti since 2007. Founded by R. Scott Bonnell to help feed and create opportunities for Haitians to lift themselves out of poverty. Hope to Haiti is a non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation located in Tallahassee Florida.

Hope to Haiti has moved beyond the failed models of charity towards sustainable communities, economies, and lifestyles. We understand the need to inspire hope and create models that allows others to create their own hope for their futures. We know the greatest help we can give is to permit people to develop their own lives so that ultimately they are free of the need for outside support or intervention. This shift has moved us to clean water, transportation,  agriculture and micro-financing opportunities. We want to empower and enable Haitians to lift themselves out of poverty. It takes compassion, endurance, and a constant focus on HOPE. Since we began our efforts in Haiti we have provided assistance through hurricanes, cholera, civil unrest and the devastating earthquake.

Our HOPE2THEHUNGRY effort is our response to hunger issues right here in the USA.

100% of the food we package at our events will be donated to local food banks in our communities
to  fight hunger in our local community.

Who is Outreach?

Outreach is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation located in Union, Iowa, USA. Formed in 2004, Outreach is the response of philanthropist couple Kathy and Floyd Hammer to the famine, suffering, and grinding poverty they witnessed while traveling in Tanzania. Today, Outreach administers an array of sustainable programs - providing food, water, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities - to thousands in Tanzania. And through its innovative Kids Care project, Outreach now packages and delivers over 100 million nutritious meals to the hungry in the US and around the world.

Outreach’s Kids Care organizes and hosts food packaging events, held in church halls, school gymnasiums, and even stadiums, bringing together hundreds, sometimes thousands, of volunteers - each prepared to donate time and money to package meals for the hungry and food insecure in this country and abroad. These are extraordinary events of giving and caring that draw neighbors, congregations, memberships, work groups, and communities into team building and spirit enriching exercises in which any one of any age or background can participate and extend love to those in need.

In 2010 Outreach and it's packaging partners provided over 100 million meals to local food banks in the USA and abroad.
